Travel Cot as Playpen?

I was thinking about getting a travel cot for downstairs (for naps) and also using it as a playpen. Genius, thrifty idea, or daft?

I did the same and it worked fine for short periods!

Works here as well. It's a god send now ds is on the move. I can pop him in there whilst I go to the loo, wash up, iron, cook dinner or answer the door.

I did exactly the same thing with DS if i needed to get on with stuff eg hanging out washing or going to the loo. Couldn't have managed without it! It will be coming down again once DD is on the move!

Did this at my mums when she had DS when i worked - it worked fine! She rotated the toys that were in there so he didn;t get bored and as he got older he could reach a shelf with more of his toys on and loved it. Not that he was in there for ages, but gets bored quite quickly

I did this when my twins were little and it worked brilliantly. They oftened napped in it during the day as well. I've got wonderful photos of them curled up at each end .

Me too, it was perfect as a playpen for when I had to leave ds for a little while (our washing machine was in the cellar and I couldn't carry ds and laundry)but we also used it as a cot when we went camping. The only thing was he eventually broke the base from lots of jumping up and down which obviously he wouldn't have done in our old wooden playpen.

Travel cots are sold in Canada as playpens. I think they're the same thing.
