My ds is going through a really hard stage where I cant even walk away one step away from him without him screaming. he wants carried around all day and i cant even go for a pee. he is only like this with me he moans and cries all day and its driving me mad. He acts fine when with dp and at nursery but if i enter the room he starts crying and puts his arms up to be carried. My appendix burst recentley and i have jsut had a mc so my stomach is tender and sore so carrying him is difficult. He will pull at my legs all day. I have tried sitting with him on the floor to play but he just comes over to my lap and cries. Whats going on I cant take much more. I love him but hes driving me mad!!

How old is he? Did you have to go into hospital with the appendicitis and m/c.

It sounds very much like seperation anxiety. He just needs lots of your attention and reassurance that you aren't going to disapear. It is very upsetting for them when we have to be in hospital. My dd was the same when I had my m/c two years ago even though we had explained that mummy had to go away for a few nights and would be home soon.

It is maddening but it will pass he is just feeling a little insecure.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Yes I was in hospital for 3 weeks for my appendix as I almost didnt make it and only for a few days with the mc. I think he knows i havent been well or something.

He is 13 months

Did he know that you were going into hospital or were you just rushed in?

If you were rushed in you would not of had time to explain it all to him. He is worried that you are going to disapear. Just give him loads of hugs and keep reassuring him that you are comming back.
