Every morning has been a struggle for, taking my daughter to school its so awful she cries and doesnt want to go to school, she has been like this for a few months now, lucky the school she is in has a counsellor which helps her, but she is so afraid of seeing someone be sick or feeling it, every day she seeks reasurance and has currently have TAHMS working with her, I dont know if I should go back to my GP and get her refered for counselling one to one, any other parents going thru this would love to hear from any one or tips on how to help her

Why would she need another counsellor if there is one in school who is working with her?

Buy the 'What to do When You Worry Too Much' book (Amazon?) and ask the counsellor if she'd be prepared to work through it with your daughter. It's been quite successful in some similar cases on here. You also need to get involved in it to pick up the techniques of not over reassuring or saying 'Don't worry' as that's like saying 'Don't think of pink elephants'...what are you doing now?

I already have that book doesnt seem to be doing any help, i have spoken to the counsellor at school she will only work with her at school, but i feel she needs more than that, i have spoken to my gp who is urgently referring her again, so I am hoping there is some help for, she is only 8 and its so heartbreaking to see her so sad all the time
