Hello, I'm a new member having just got a home PC.
I have 2 daughters aged 18 months and 10 weeks.
I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I have never come across before but is the sort of thing that would only happen to me.
My daughter is 18 months old today. Normal full term delivery, no problems in any department except one .... she cannot stand up or sit down without me helping her.
She sat up unaided at 12 weeks, never crawled or bum shuffled. She would sit and play with whatever was in front of her and if it was out of reach she wouldn't bother with it. At 8 months she would raise her arms to be lifted up to standing when she would grasp my legs or furniture and start to walk hoding on. at 11 months she walked on her own. Then after learning to walk, she learned to bum shuffle. She now bum shuffles everywhere when sitting down, then when I stand her up, she runs and runs all day until I sit her down. She can bend down low but just won't sit. She also still doesn't crawl
I took her to the GP a little while back who said he could find no physical cause for her not to do it and she would do it when she was ready, she just jumped stages and had to go back and relearn them.
I'm very concerned as she seems to lack confidence and she won't even attempt climbing.
Has anyone even heard of this problem because no-one I have spoken to has and what should I do to help?

Npo real advice really but my DS's developmental stages were all arse about face too. He sat up unaided at four and a half months but couldn't roll over untill he 8 months. Some babies do skip crawling altogether. Sorry not very helpfull really.
