i'm not sure of a polite way to ask this...how do you stop a 2.2 year old from playing with his willy everytime you change his nappy??
can't get him to stop...he thinks its hilarious!

will be potty training soon...don't want him to doing it all day long!! also don't want him to think its bad either.

dh says you can't - once they've found it (boys - their willy) they never let go

gloworm · 19/04/2004 11:37

ha ha

not exactly what i wanted to hear (but my dh says same thing)

Agree gloworm, you can't! My son tries to pull his off everytime he get's undressed to get in the bath and he's five. At two and half I left him for a few minutes to make a drink and came back to find him naked with his willie stuck in a piece of wood. It was one of those blocks that you knock pegs into and he'd taken the pegs out and put his willie in. Then having gone hard it he couldn't get it out. Funny now but at the time I was mortified thinking how I'd explain it at A&E. Then I got my act together and got some ice cubes. Did the trick! Still didn't stop him. I'm prepared to go through it all again with ds2. He hasn't found his yet.

lydialemon · 19/04/2004 11:39

Sorry! Could never get DSs to stop either.

Bathtime now brings on 'willy wars', they use them as guns to shoot each other?! They are 3 and 6 BTW.

aloha · 19/04/2004 11:51

My ds announced that he was going to eat his willy in the bath the other day!

Flip · 19/04/2004 11:53

Did he manage it aloha?

Janh · 19/04/2004 11:54

LOL at Flip's ds and the block of wood!

(You couldn't make it up...)

gloworm · 19/04/2004 11:57

thanks for all your stories...at least i'm not the only one!
looks like i have years of fun ahead of me!

oh yeah. his latest one is to complain about having a "bursty nappy" when his willy goes hard

Helsbels · 19/04/2004 12:03

yup, boys will be boys.......

hatter · 19/04/2004 13:58

with two girls I'm obviously very poorly informed..."Hard"??!! I had no idea this was a possibility.

Twinkie · 19/04/2004 14:00

DP reckons they asre just checking it is still there - apparently big disease going around where it just falls off!!!!! - and all men know this (as do little boys it seems!!) and so they have top check constantly

Codswallop · 19/04/2004 14:00

I tell hi it will fall off if he plays wiht it

he s scarred for life

Codswallop · 19/04/2004 14:01

nephew was born wiht hard on!

survivour · 19/04/2004 14:02

I have 3 boys, and no!, there is nothing you can do about it at all!!!!!! So don't try, it will tire you out. They do grow out of it, but then again!!!!!!!!

Browbeaten · 19/04/2004 14:04

I was going to post a similar question as my ds is willy obsessed also and if he hasn't got a vest on that does up between his legs he is constantly pulling it out over the top of his nappy and just letting it hang out. I keep finding puddles of wee which alerts me to the problem. He's been like this since he was quite a small baby and he is now 18 mo so I don't think he'll change - potty training will be fun :0

eddm · 19/04/2004 14:18

If it bothers you, have you tried giving him a toy to play with while you are changing him? Don't know how well it would work with a 2 yr old, my ds only 9 months but works with him. I'm not that bothered but is difficult to put nappy cream on when he won't let go

BadHair · 19/04/2004 14:21

Ds1 is 3 and last week dropped his trousers in Asda to check his willy. To the delight of the assembled shoppers he then told them that it had "gone big". It was his way of passing the time while I took too long in the clothes section.

WSM · 19/04/2004 14:35

ROFL !!! I suppose that's one way of cutting your shopping expedition short, BadHair !!! He's an inventive little chap, I'll give him that !!

katierocket · 19/04/2004 14:38

badhair

oh joy!

lou33 · 19/04/2004 17:23

Lydialemon, that is hilarious!

My two boys aged 5 and 3 also love to play with theirs. The youngest is being potty trained so often has nothing on from the waist down. Every so often I tell him to stop, but it's futile really. Boys and their willies = first real love.

happycat · 19/04/2004 17:27

I have 3 boys in my house 6,7 and a 38 year old(dh) they never leave their willies alone I don't know many small or BIG boys that do

carla · 19/04/2004 17:46

I am truly amazed (and/ or shocked!). Do boy's willies really go hard at 2 and a half????

happycat · 19/04/2004 17:47

yep my boys do first thing in the mornings mostly

lydialemon · 19/04/2004 17:52

Younger than 2.5, Carla. Oh the fun of trying to cram an incredibly springy willy into a nappy whilst DS is trying to escape! DH would get very uncomfortable if DSs had little hard ones whilst he was changing their nappies. I think when they're babies it's to do with the change of temperature when you take their nappies off.

aloha · 20/04/2004 13:32

Carla, it's purely a physical sensation - they don't want to have sex. little girls of the same age have sexual sensations in their clitoris too. It's an equal opportunities thing, this sexual pleasure!
