dd2 has just started reception and tells us every day that she only ever plays with dd1 and dd1's bf. dd2 is very confident and has made friends in reception but she says she doesn't like playing with them at breaktime. dd2 is quite happy with this but I just wondered whether other siblings were like this? I never went to school with my dbs, and never had a sister so don;t have my own experience to compare.

My dtws don't acknowledge each other except to argue: them playing together is very rare.

It's probably that at the moment they do the things she likes doing; her other friends do something else.

My DS1 is in Year 1 and DS2 has just started reception, DS1 is quite reserved and quiet and has small group of friends at school but DS2 is quite confident and outgoing and so DS1 has been playing with DS2 and HIS friends at playtimes! But it's early days for your daughter in reception - as she's gets to know her classmates I'm sure she'll play with them too.

ds1 and ds2 are at the same school and they and their friends get together at break times to play footy most days.

dd has said when ds1 moves up to her school next year she will avoid him like the plague!

ds2 and ds1 always played together in the first year, then ds1 moved up to the junior playground, and they had two years apart.

This year ds2 is in the junior playground too, and they always play (or argue) together.
