Am I being thick about this?! Weight related

Just looking at the kids red books and their weight charts/graphs and noticed their weight conversions (from lbs to kgs) goes up to 14 then back to 0 for example 12.12 12.13 12.14 13.0 13.01
Does that make sense?!
Now I thought there were 16oz in 1lb? So what's going on with the conversion charts?
I'm completely confused now as to their weights on the graphs, yes it's minute but it changes where they should be on the graph and is making me wonder if I've finally lost the plot

Oh, basically I've converted their weight in lbs on my phone to kgs and it's completely different to what the hv has got in the book.

12.16 is the same as 13.0.
The conversions are correct are you sure you're doing it right on your phone? 1kg = 2.2 lb so to work out what 12.14 is you need to change the ounces to a proper decimal: I.e. 14/16 = 0.875. Then add on the pounds: 12.875. Now divide that by 2.2 = 5.852... Which could be rounded to 5.9kg or 5.85kg.

Having just reread your post, is it the change in increments that confuses you?

SparklyReindeerShit · 15/11/2014 15:03

Oh I know that 12.16 is the same as 13 but what's happened to 12.15?!

Kgs to lbs and oz is kgs Times by 2.2 then minus the whole number ( this is your pounds) and Times the bit after the decimal by 16 to convert to oz.
So 2.345 x 2.2 = 5.159 so that's 5lb something
0.159 x 16 = 2.54oz
So 5lbs 3oz

so it skips from 12lb 14oz to 13lb 0oz? where is 12lb 15oz dissappeared to?! Confused

disclaimer - shit at maths.
