yes - we don't have one here in Mendip PCT

geekgrrl · 03/10/2006 09:35

yes, they didn't do one here on ds who is 2.75 yrs. HV said they'd stopped doing them.

WigWamBam · 03/10/2006 09:35

Yes. They might send you a questionnaire to fill in instead though, depending on how your practice works.

You can always make an appointment to see the HV if you have any concerns.

jasnDISMemBERED · 03/10/2006 09:36

We get sent a questionare here.

Pruhoohooohoooooni · 03/10/2006 09:37

In Oxford I was told I could make appt if I wanted but it was no longer routine.

jasnDISMemBERED · 03/10/2006 09:38

Staff shortage where I am (Essex)

MerlinsBeard · 03/10/2006 09:38

no check just a questionnaire

hunkermunster · 03/10/2006 09:38

Same as Pruni. Make sure you get the Bookstart pack though (not sure this is all areas, but worth having if it's in your area).

gladbag · 03/10/2006 09:44

Ds is 2.8, and we haven't had a check, or a questionnaire or a Bookstart pack, or any contact at all from the HV since his 9 month check. Not that I'm bothered as he's just fine as far as I'm concerned. Presumably the powers that be expect you to contact them if you have any concerns.

I am interested in the Bookstart pack though - are we talking free books? Now that would be worth chasing......Any more info appreciated.

DS2 got his Bookstart pack at nursery on Friday - he's 3.1. Haven't had a HC check though. DS1 had one at 3 IIRC
