DD started juniors in September so she's gone from play and not a lot of work to work and not a lot of play. By Wednesday she's a tantrummy shouty nightmare, get it for half an hour the she apologises and comes for a cuddle. She's in bed for seven so getting plenty of sleep. Any ones else's year three the same?

My DS is similar. He's enjoying year 3 and seems to be coming on with his no nonsense teacher (love her!). He holds it all together at school but let RIP!!! when he gets home and occasionally it will start on the way home, strops and tantrums over the silliest things.

Still, it's the right way round and I'd rather this than he have his bad tempers at school!

Tried earlier bed times. Have started to give her fair warning about what I need her to do when she gets in so its not sprung on her. Think I'm probably just going to have to ride it out. She comes out of school so excited about everything she's done then as so as I open our gate she starts. Agree though, rather at home than at school!

0My DS has just started year 3 .. he is tired. I find lessening my expectations on him.
If you remember back to reception most kids were exhausted ( mine was the exception Hmm they do adapt it just takes a while.

I find easy to eat tea.. Let him sit and watch TV, DS , all seem to help. I do a more than I normally need to do for him. Put his Pj's out, get him a drink. Let the little things that you would normally pick up on go.
these little things tend to help. I also tantrums send him immediately to his room. I simply refuse to listen to them at his age however tired
