Daughter not drinking much

My 11.5 month old DD was sick a few days ago. She has gone over a day and a half now with no more vomitting incidents.

Yesterday we fed her only milk, little and often. She took around 100ml every few hours. At tea time she also had a little dry toast.

Today we are planning to give her lunch (which will be home made Annabell Karmel recipe of chicken, apricot and butternut squash) and depending how she gets on with that we will offer her some of a banana at tea time.

We will offer her 4oz every few hours, replacing the milk feed with lunch and again at tea time.

When we got her up this morning she was very clingy (which she has been past days) and then started crying hard. That was until I put the bottle in her mouth where she proper guzzled! Poor thing, she was clearly so hungry!

BUT she only took 2 and half ounces! Should I be concerned???

For now I would keep doing little and often. Offer the bottle every half hour. Does she ever drink water? If so, have a bottle of water for her to get whenever she likes.

I would not replace a feed with solids, I would offer the solids, then offer the milk.

Look for signs of dehydration. If you get concerned, pop along to a pharmacist and have a chat.

Could it be possible for her to be 'bored' of milk? My mum (who's looking after her today) said she LOVED her lunch and ate it all but has not been particularly interested n her milk.

Since 6 months she has been used to proper food and for the past few days has had that taken away and she doesn't understand why?!??

What do you think?

I think you should offer food and milk and leave it up to her. babies know what they want and she's not been sick for quite a long time anyway

I agree. If she is eating fine then she is getting some liquid. Offer water, offer milk. She will self regulate what she wants.
