Teething question

Dd is 7.5 months. No teeth yet but seems to have been getting intermittent pain for months (since she was about 11 weeks old). Just wondered if anyone has had a child who's first tooth to come through was one of the back ones?
Put my finger in her mouth last night and this morn when trying to settle her to sleep and thought I could feel something a bit rough (certainly very hard anyway).
I'm trying to work out if her being so unsettled at sleep times is anything to do with teething or not. She seems fine during the day but chews and chews on fingers, my arm and hands (and anything else in the cot) when she's put to bed.
I give calpol sometimes but it's starting to feel like I'm giving it to her everytime she needs to sleep

My DD is only just 7 months and just got her two bottom teeth in 2 weeks. She's been showing signs for months though just like yours seems to be now, the calpol was getting a lot with us too! As for the back teeth obviously mine hasn't got hers and usually they turn up later so I don't know but I guess there's no manual and all kids are different!once the teeth are out its easie... Until the next ones, I'm dreading them!

Thanks for this. I guess some babies are just really affected by the pain for a long time before anything shows! I'll continue with the calpol then!
