My DD is 3.4 & we are having quite a bit of trouble with her behaviour the last few months.
Major tantrums over nothing (these are possibly getting better lately) and having to be asked several times to do anything. We are dealing with these issues & I feel slowly making progress.
What bothers me more is the way she behaves towards other children. In a queue waiting for a slide she will push others (not very rough but in an impatient way), with her 'friends' calling them silly when it's clearly upsetting them or shouting /screaming in their face, saying to a boy she'd never met at the swimming pool 'I don't like you'. She doesn't seem to realise that what she does /says may upset others & she comes across as selfish /unkind.
She is at preschool 4 days a week & seems to be getting on OK although it doesn't sound as though she made any great friendships yet but she only started in Sept so I guess it's early days.
I'm just trying to get the messages of a) listen & do as you are asked &
b) treat others as you would like to be treated
across & feel like I'm getting nowhere.
Is this just normal 3 year old behaviour? Am I expecting too much? Any tips or idea when things might just improve would be much appreciated. Thanks!
