Is there an 8 month sleep regression?

Dd was an amazing sleeper, much needed after dd1 was awful. For the last few months she has been sleeping 7-7 at night and the napping 9.15-10.30 and 1.15-3/3.30. For some reason for the last week, naps have been much shorter and she has been taking an hour or more to settle at night time.

I have no idea why this has suddenly happened, it's like someone has clicked a switch and her sleep has changed.

Has anyone else had similar?

8/9/10 months can be tricky

Thank you, that's interesting. I just worry that if she can suddenly start sleeping less like that overnight maybe she'll stay this way or just start sleeping less and less.

She doesn't seem to be mastering any news skills e.g. Been sitting and rolling for ages but not even attempting to crawl. Is it possible the milestones or development she's going through is mental and can't be seen?

Also do you think it's possible that as she's not napping as long, that she's overtired by her normal bedtime of 7pm?

If she's not going through any milestones, she's most likely having trouble falling asleep on her own. Google "how to teach baby to fall asleep on her own" many great articles

Thanks mummy, but I don't think this is the case for dd as she does fall asleep by herself and always has. Although her naps are short, she falls asleep on her own in just a few minutes and sometimes in seconds. It's just at bedtime she's taking up to an hour and sometimes more.
