Ds is 3 next week and I just wondered...
What is their sleeping pattern?
How much do they eat?
How hyper are they?

DS2 is 3.5. He sleeps for 2 hours during the day & sleeps 12 hours (ish) through the night. (He goes to bed at 7pm)
He eats quite a bit, but can be fussy with certain foods, & he is mega hyper!!

Nemo1977 · 29/09/2006 14:30

so ds is about average then
He goes to bed at 7pm but wakes up between 5-6.30am..do wish he slept longer as DD doesnt wake till at least 8am.
Picks at food
Goes to playgroup 3 mornings a week and is extremely hyper.

Surfermum · 29/09/2006 14:38

DD is 3.4. She goes to bed at 7 and sleeps until 7.00/7.30 ish. She eats well on the whole, but some evenings isn't that fussed about having a big meal.

Mon she's at my mum's while I work, Tues pre-school 9-3.30, Weds pm playgroup with me, Thu pre-school 9-12 then my mum's as I'm at work again, Fri pre-school 1-3.30. I try to take her somewhere like swimming or local farm park on either the Wed or Fri morning most weeks.

I honestly couldn't describe her as hyper but she does like to be played with or read to a lot.

Piffle · 29/09/2006 14:41

7pm if no daytime nap
8pm if has had nap
wakes at 8-9am if left
not hyper at all in teh slightest
She eats a lot, little and often, most everything she is offered
She is 4 next month but very small
She is in short an absolute angel

Flamesparrow · 29/09/2006 14:47

Bed at 7.30pm, wake at about 7- 7.30am.

Eats... varies - some days everything in sight, some days sod all.

Hyper... This is a whirlwind child. She never ever stops. She isn't "normal" w/r to her energy levels though, I know that.

kittywits · 29/09/2006 14:47

DD2: 3 exactly.
Sleeps about 7pm -6.30 am, often though she won't go to sleep until later. If she has even a quick nap in the day she won't go to bed in the evening.

I've no idead how much she eats, but she looks healthy enough so I guess it's enough!

She is still contrary, awkward, bloody minded and bad tempered!!!!

sugarfree · 29/09/2006 14:48

Ds3 is 3 next week.
Started playgroup about 3 weeks ago for two sessions per week.Goes in screaming and has to be peeled off me then tells me he had a nice time when I pick him up.Goes to bed between 7 and quarter past and is asleep within minutes, sleeps until about 6-6.30 next morning.
He's non-stop all day and would be more than happy never to eat a meal and just graze all day long.
After catching up his speech delay over the Summer,he now chats for England and is keen to know what things are made of and who made it!
He's a monkey but he's bloody gorgeous.

yeahinaminute · 29/09/2006 15:05

DD will be 4 in January - she goes to pre-school every day and swimming lessons on Monday and ballet on Thursday.

Sh " knows" her own mind, is talkative, interested and interesting, can be a total pain in the backside a complete flirt but is very very funny.

She goes to bed at 7.30 each week night (later at the weekends) is a very heavy sleeper and wakes about 8am.

Eats pretty much anything except raw tomatoes and mushroom.

She is a world class whinger at times!

However - she does not feel the need to get herself to the loo before an "accident" occurs and is still in pull - ups at night!!

On the whole a loving and much loved incredibly normal child !!

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 29/09/2006 15:43

All mine dropped their sleeps by eighteen months. harold a mediocre sleepr- down by 9, up at about 7. Used to be grest til he went to a cot, hates his routine broken.

Has gotten eating at alst- took ages to get him to have an appetite. Wille at pretty much anything though.

Even starting to say a few words at last

Elibean · 29/09/2006 19:41

dd is 3 just before Xmas. She has just started pre-school three mornings per week, and has gone back to napping maybe 4x per week for an hour-ish.

She sleeps from 8-9pm to 7-8am depending on the nap situation on any given day, is generally a good eater but has become a lot fussier in the last few months. She eats loads of raw veggies, bread, any kind of meat/fish, eggs, milk, cereal, any kind of fruit, a few cooked veggies, and whatever sweet things she can get her paws on (not nearly as many as she'd like).

She isn't hyper, though can get pretty excited and squeal with sheer exuberance sometimes. Really funny, talks for Britain, independent, happy, but when tired can be a total PITA: like a moody teenager just looking for a scrap. Which can be funny or mindbendingly annoying depending on how tired I am.

Marina · 29/09/2006 19:47

Dd 3 and a quarter. Supposed to be in bed asleep by 7.30pm but is sometimes awake until 8pm. Wakes around 7am.
Eats well
Very lively and contrary, like the others, but not hyper - will sit and look at books, do quiet play, watch a DVD, for up to 30 mins. But is a rascal the rest of the time.

Tommy · 29/09/2006 19:47

DS2 was 3 at the end of August.
He doesn't have a nap in the day anymore unless we go for a long drive.
He is normally asleep by 7pm but tends to wake often in the night and won't go back to sleep unless DH or I are with him
He used to eat anything and everything but he is a bit more opicky these days - has a big breakfast - banana, cereal and toast, a good lunch and hardly any tea.
He is not hyper at all but then I can only compare him with DS1 who is like Tigger on speed....

coppertop · 29/09/2006 19:50

Ds2 is 3.5yrs old. He goes to pre-school 5 mornings a week.

He doesn't need much sleep so has no naps in the daytime. On a really good night he will sleep from about 10pm until 7am but will wake up a few times in the night. Without his melatonin he will sleep from about midnight-7am and wake up a couple of times.

He doesn't eat very much (quantity or variety). Today, for example, he has had a small bowl of cornflakes, a piece of dry bread and about a pint of milk.

He can get very hyper and seems to have endless energy.

Adorabelle · 29/09/2006 20:28

My 2.4 dd never slept through the night till she
was 19 mnths. Now 9 times out of 10 she'll sleep
through on her own in her cot. But sometimes we'll have a whole week of having her in our bed
at night.

Eats very well, all fruit & veg, nice healthy snacks like breadsticks & homemade dips.

As to her activity levels, she's a whirlwind! Doesn't stop from second to second. I think she's pretty bright (counts to 17, knows her alphabet) & she likes to have constant stimulation. She's a very lively child but we wouldn't have it any other way

BethT · 29/09/2006 20:33

DS1 is 3.5 At pre school 5 afternoons
Goes to bed 7-7.30pm wakes 6am always been an early riser dropped naps about 8 months ago.
Quite chilled for a boy but does have his hyper moments, usually spurred on by other 3yr old boys!!! Tends to be more laid back with me more hyper with DH, flippin testosterone!!!

gigwig · 29/09/2006 20:48

DS is nearly 4. Sleep: 7:30 to 6:00-6:30. Still has an afternoon nap (about one hour) most days.

Eating: is becoming increasingly fussy, saying he doesnt like most of the food we make. Some weeks eats huge amounts, other weeks eats hardly anything. Eats much better when at his childminders than with us nowadays.

Hyper: is continually on the go, but not hyper or over active.
