My niece has been self harming & talking of suicide.
It was one incident, nothing since or before that incident. She was hospitalized overnight.

Camhs team suspect it's a one off, I disagree, I think there is more to come with her.

What do I ask to get the best out of them and some help for dn?
Any one with experience, can you advise about what to expect at this meeting please?

My experience is that if they think its a "one off" and feel dn has good support within the family they will withdraw. I would reccomend you do some research on the camhs website (and maybe MIND website) and find out what kind of assessment and support could be provided. There may be support services (counselling etc) in your area for your dn, not part of camhs and they will give info on these.
Hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable will come along soon. Really hope your dn gets the help she needs. In my area there is a text support service for girls (not boys sadly) who self harm/ feel the need to. Maybe there's something like this near you?

I would research the symptoms of depression in teens and risk factors for suicide. Write down what you think applies to your niece and give it to the team, or at least inform them verbally.
