Just wondered if anyone has any tips on how to deal with a 17 month old who has started biting and/or hitting his little friends and me !
DS doesn't seem to be phased by stern noes, being removed from the sitation or me lavishing attention on the victim and ignoring (for a few minutes) him so am out of ideas. Must admit to also being worried that it is something I am or am not doing which is causing it, none of his other friends seem to have these "tendencies".
Help !!

Just sit it out. Then laugh when he's out of it and his friends are the 'bad' ones!

My 2.5 year old hits or throws things when he's frustrated, tired, annoyed or just possessed. I do what you do and keep my fingers crossed that he'll grow out of it soon.

ds1 went through the hitting for no reason stage at about 2ish. Now at nearly 3, at least he does it for a reason; usually tiredness.

Thanks - good to know it does happen to others. All his friends are "angels" when he is around so it makes it seem even worse. Hopefully the phase will pass soon !
