Would you be worried about an 8 month old baby covering her ears all the time?

Dd3 seems to cover her ears a lot.

At first I thought it was just excitement and she grabbed her ears as she had just discovered them.

But it's becoming more and more frequent.

There are no signs of an ear infection.

When I call her name she smiles at me and covers her ears for example.

Would you be worried?

Have you had her checked by a Dr for ear infection? Sometimes things like glue ear can be hard to spot by an untrained person.

Maybe it's teeth? Pulling ears is often a sign of teething--they say that it is frequently mistaken as a sign of ear infection, though apparently ear infection pain isn't localised enough for babies to recognise that their ears are what hurts.

Mine bat at their ears all the time and have been doing so ever since teething started!

I agree about teething. That's the first sign the DS has another coming, it's the ear grabbing.

If it's been going on for a long time though and doesn't seem to be changing I would see a dr or HV just to be sure.
