Bedtime issue

Hi

My LO (15 months) has been used to me laying down next to him and then falling asleep (falls asleep on his own usually after 15 - 30 min of messing about in bed). He sleeps in a bed with a bed guard and we usually end up co-sleeping as he wakes up a few times at night for water.

I want to be able to put him to bed and leave him alone in the room to fall asleep. How do I do that without him pulling a hissy fit? Of course If he slept in a cot it would be much easier as I know he wouldn't be able to get out.

If he gets out you just keep putting him back to bed. Hopefully it will only take a few nights, you just need to keep at it if that's what you want to do.
