Not sleeping at nursery

My 10 month old DD has been going to nursery for the past 2 months. She does 2 days a week. She sleeps pretty well at home during the day but at nursery she RARELY sleeps.

The staff at the nursery say this always happens with the 'newbies', that they take a few weeks to settle in and get used to a new environment, new cot, different noises, etc. But it's been over 2 months now!

I just called to see how she's been this afternoon and was told all she's managed all day is half an hour. She's 10 months old so should definitely be having more than that.

The girl at nursery said she is clearly SOOOO tired as keeps yawning, rubbing her eyes etc.

The fact she goes only twice a week probably doesn't help as she's possibly still getting used to things there but just wondered if anyone else's DC have gone through this and how long it took them?

Same here. Been going about. 6 months and sleeps a lot less, if at all at nursery.
Will often fall asleep in car on way home so I out him down for a nap most of the time when I get in, even though it's late. He's a nightmare if I try and keep him up.
I think you just have to accept that's how it is.....

My first LO was the same, he never slept at nursery for the whole year he went (until I went on maternity leave with my second). Luckily he was only in for half days as FIL had him in the afternoons so he'd fall asleep pretty much as soon as he got in the car. I think it's just too exciting for them. He was about 10mo when he started too. I would try not to worry, she'll either start napping there or make up for it at other times.

My 11mo dd used to nap 2-3 times a day, now she barely naps for 45 minutes in the afternoon and she doesn't even attend nursery. Only time she sleeps longer is when she's had a bad night.

It may be just a phase or it might her body clock and/or her stubborness to sleep or prehaps sleep regression? Is she getting enough sleep at night and during the days at home? If so, I wouldn't worry too much.

dd1 went to nursery 2 days a week from 12 months. They never sorted it. She adjusted and slept longer on the days she wasn't there. I think people well people on mn get hungup about them needing sleep until whatever age. Some of them just don't fit the mould.

She may well improve but my advice is relax she'll survive either way Wink
