What is a suitable bedtime for a 10 year old who has school in the morning?

dd is 10 and bedtime is 9pm on school nights.

DS is 10. He goes to bed around 9 on a school night. Not sure when he actually goes to sleep but he gets up fine in the morning for school.

We try for 8pm but 3 nights a week he has activities which usually mean its way past 8, sometimes after 9.
