DS2 is 23 weeks. Big baby born 9lb 14 but I would say he has an average appetite. He is exclusively breastfed and a happy happy. He has been teething for a while now but last few weeks his nights (and mine) are awful. He is in a vote in my room. He goes to bed at 6.30 after a bath with his 3yo brother, then feed and sleep until about 10.30 when I feed him and back down before 11. Last night he woke at 12 and was basically up all night off and on. He will feed whenever I offer him and that does settle him but I need some sleep now. Confused as to what I should do. Should he go in own room so he doesn't see me as in "in tap"? I don't think he is hungry in the night as he feeds all day and then isn't looking to feed first thing. I am in no rush to get him out my room but waking in the night like this isn't good for either of us. Thinking if I move him and start not feeding him every wake it might help even though be terrible in the short term. It's just so easy to grab him out the cot and give him a feed!!!! Need some wise words!!

He's very small still so it's not unusual or unreasonable (in a baby's eyes!) to wake at night.

I found that then went in phases....great sleep for a while...then they'd teeth or grow and bam...up all night.

You just have to play it by ear really. He's too small imo to limit feeds just yet.

Can you feed lying down in bed? This was a great help to me. Ended up co-sleeping for parts of some nights - you may not be comfy with this (I know NHS advice is against it) but if you do it safely, and as he is a biggish baby anyway that is easier, then it could help? Really feel with you - I remember those sleepless nights well, but not fondly! Good luck!

I was able to feed lying down with ds1 (again another biggun) but ds2 can't/wont do it. I've been trying to think today and think he likes to feed at night and watch and play in day. He so so hard to feed in day now, even when i go in a quiet or dark room, he twisting to see what is going on. I need him to feed more in day so less hungry at night......it's just a case of how......Grin The joys
