My gorgeous dd is overweight for her age on the nhs bmi calculator. She's 75 febrile forthright but 93rd for weight. On her growth charts she's following a curve and was the same weight centile a year ago but a bit taller then.
So, the plan is to increase her activity and cut out extra portions. She does have a big appetite but has v little processed food or sweet foods other than fruit. No drinks other than water or milk. She's pescatarian. We all eat the same meals, together.
I'm giving us 6months before we weigh her again as I don't want it to be an obsession and want to make it a family life style approach. The rest of us are slim and active. I think she's v active already, certainly way more active than her sibling at the same age, who is of average height and build but I guess I'm doing something wrong!
DH was the same build as a child and slimmed right down by 6 or 7 years but I'm terribly worried about it.
Do tell me your success stories please!
