Upset by holding in wee when potty training

My dd is 2.3 and showing signs for training so I decided to go for it today. Previously has taken herself to the potty and used it twice whilst nappy off. Today is really upset that she needs (after two hours of being dry) but won't use potty or toilet. She was screaming so I tried a nappy and she got worse and took the nappy off. Is it too early or should I persevere?

Put her back in nappies - much easier to wait until they are totally ready.

I agree put nappy back on.
As it is summer give her time in bathroom before bath to sit on potty, let her have bum free time in garden but don't worce her she isn't ready.

This happened to us when first trying ds at 26 months. We gave up cos he was holding it in and getting all distressed. Fast forward to 34 months, all his friends were doing it and he cracked wees immediately and poos 3 weeks later. It was a revelation & a walk in the park relative to the first attempt!
