Might be a sign of hunger.

footflapper · 28/07/2014 23:08

They all do it, completely normal Smile

Sign of hunger

moomin35 · 28/07/2014 23:10

I don't think it's hunger in this case because he's getting his full recommended feeds a day and he seems to do after a full feed ...

All three of mine have done it, it's a comfort thing. They are now avid finger suckers at 5, 3, and 17weeks. :)

My DS does it when he's getting tired and he's the same age. They are also just getting to understand that their hands are part of their bodies that they can control so they are just playing really. It's a good sign in terms of development Smile

My little girl is 14 weeks old and she's done it for weeks. She's not hungry. I've read its developmental.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 30/07/2014 08:09

My ds is 15 weeks and does it! After feed, before feed you name it

ilovepowerhoop · 30/07/2014 08:12

it is developmental as their hands/arms are the first things they can control properly. They also get comfort from sucking and chewing so once they can get their hands to their mouth then they will have a good old go at them. It is not always hunger.
