When will more teeth be coming for 16mo?!

May sound a silly question but my 16mo DD has had same 6 teeth for monnntthhs and I still dont see signs of anymore. She has bottom front 2 and 4 front top and I'm sure she should have more by now?! I'm sure they'll just all come at once but just wanted to make sure this is fairly normal?! Thank you

Definitely normal. DD only had 2 teeth by her first birthday! We did have a pretty hideous 18-24months when a lot seemed to come through at once sadly for her.

Yes, all normal. My dd was similar to yours- she had seven teeth (four on top and three on the bottom) by the time she was around 10 or 11 months, then nothing for ages. She then cut seven more between 18-20 months. It was a tough couple of months!

I miscounted -it was actually 9 in two months!

Thanks so much, I guessed that might be the case! Do you mind me asking if any medication etc helped, or what you would recommend. I found nurofen helped her with her first lot, but as they get older the bonjela/ashtons etc is harder to get down them isn't it! X

We used ibuprofen about 2-3 x per day and also paracetamol (calpol) too if she was really struggling. We never tried any topical treatments (mouth gels etc) as the medicine seemed to work well and I figured that the gels get washed off very quickly.

It seemed to be bedtime when DD suffered most. All the distractions of the day gone, just lying quietly she seemed to notice the pain more. So, we gave her Calpol or Ibuprofen before bed if she was cutting teeth, just to take the edge off and allow her to drop off. And lots of cold carrot/ cucumber sticks in the day, just to gnaw on. We didn't bother with gels and so on.
