Discipline and reward system

Could someone please recommend a really good, simple, discipline and reward system? Both the discipline and reward are equally important to me. (DS1 responds well to praise but most definitely needs a firm hand as well).

stickers work a treat. A certain number of stickers for good behaviour, doing jobs without asking etc. Discipline wise, just take away a toy, miss out on watching tv or something.
