Help me deal with stubborn 2 year old please

My bright and stubborn 2.9 year old DD is driving me insane. This will probably be the first of many threads about how to deal with her.

For those that suggest offering choices to get DCs to cooperate (which I should add has always been my way too), what do you do when they reject both options?

Just one example from today- Me: 'Would you like to wear your skirt or your shorts?'
DD: 'Nothing'

Where do you go next?

After another horrific bedtime I am feeling quite beaten today. Sad Not that it is relevant, just had to share.

I know the feeling, have an equally strong willed girl of same age... On a (my) good day, I'll make a joke of this 'i.e mock exclamation, 'we can't go to gymnastics/shops/whatever naked!! Everyone will say where are DD clothes?!' This normally makes her giggle then we can just get on with it without too much drama..I don't actually give her choice very often, I do make a fuss of how lovely she looks/how nice her top is etc etc

I find if I give her too much choice, she can be a cheeky monkey (ie what would you like for lunch? Her reply is often 'poo'!! Sigh)

Bed time battles are unbearable if she is overtired and make me want to sob! I attempt to avoid this and will do a bit of a bed time run up, so as she eats her pudding I'll say 'right, yogurt before your bath and then it's bed time' then after bath, she likes to take something into bed - any weird random object she chooses I think to test whether I'll say no, which i don't I go along with it and say 'great, let's show your teddy etc'

Could you try letting her have a book in bed or I sometimes put on music for my DD (originally started to drown out her baby brothers newborn screams!) but she likes this (but tends to go straight to sleep anyway)
