2.5yr old DS suddenly limping

3 days ago my DS suddenly started limping while he was walking in town, at the time i thought it was his nappy, or his trousers were too tight, he stopped limping eventually.

Now today he's started again, I've had a look at his leg, nothing visible, no way that he's hurt it as he's showing no pain when i was touching around his leg and hip ect

should i be worried? When do i get it checked up? I have mild scoliosis, could this be the same?

In your shoes I think I'd get it checked if it's not gone by Monday. It's usually nothing but there are some medical conditions that can cause a limp and need treating. (I'd add tethered cord to this list though it's pretty rare).

Just keep a close eye on it, particularly if he starts being reluctant to put any weight on that leg. We picked DS up from nursery one day, and they said that he had stopped putting weight on one leg - we took him to the GP who sent us to the hospital as he suspected septic arthritis. It turned out that he was right and DS needed an op to drain his knee joint. DS is fine now but we are lucky the GP was worried enough to refer us on.

All 3 of my boys started limping when they were a similar age. There was no injury and it turned out to be irritable hip caused by a virus. It's very common in boys that age and usually lasts for a few days although in my youngest son it did last a couple of weeks. Probably worth taking him to the doctor though just to get checked.

Another child with arthritis here, limping is a sign so best just to go to the GP.
