Can anyone help. My dd is now two and up til now has been perfect where going to bed is concerned. Since a week ago she starts throwing a tantrum when it's yime for bed, keeps gettign out of bed and it takes endless visits and hours to get her off to sleep. We tried leaving door open slighty and light on in passage and she settles to sleep. Why has she started doing this? Why won't she sleep without the door open and light on?

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! We have the same daughter!!! Ha!ha! Our 2 year old is doing the same.....she was killing me!! Getting up 6 time a night, even her nap during the day has changed. Tonight, we are the evil parents!!! We are American, and I had watched a show on TV called Dr Phil, years ago, where the parents locked the door and just ket them cry.....boy!!!! It was hard!!!! I still have heart burn!!!!! She cried for almost an hour, and ofcourse just calling for mom!!!! but eventually, she gave up and actually went to bed. It got quiet all of the sudden, after all that time.....we waited about 5 minutes, opened the door and to our mazement, she had crawled into bed, onto her pillow and fell asleep. We woke her up when we wne tin, and she asked for her blanket. I'll let you know how she does the rest of the night. Maybe you can try this......it's hard and it sounds cruel, but I am sooooooo tired and behind on my sleep, something needs to give. Nite nite

well, she woke up at 1:30 am for about 2 minutes, got mad because she couldn't open the door....and then she went back to bed until 6:30 this morning....she wasn't mad, just full of smiles.....
