DS (nearly 17m) is going through a biting phase. He bit a child at the childminder, which was reported to us. They disciplined him of course, but at the time he'd never done it in our company, so I was hoping it was a one-off. Oh no! Biting is in full force. He bit a friend's child, and a child at playgroup yesterday. His trigger points seem to be to do with sharing toys, or giving them back when it's tidy up time at playgroup. Any advice? He's generally good natured, but I don't know how much he understands at his age when I try and discipline him. I've explained that we don't bite and that it hurts, but I don't think it's going in. Is it just a phase we have to live through? The main problem is that the childminder does have a biting policy which says they can be removed permanently if it becomes a problem.
And there was me thinking my children would be angels!
