whete to put co sleeping baby before i go up to bed?

Ds is 1 and us co sleeping. I'm happy with the arrangement as he is still bfing it makes night times easier as he's not a great sleeper and I really quite enjoy having him in with me. However he goes down to sleep at 7 and I'm finding myself just going up to bed with him which isn't s problem most of the time as I'll read in bed but what about when I need to stay up?
Ds doesnt have a cot, is it worth me buying one for these odd occasions when I need some time?
what do you do with your co sleeping baby before you go up?

I had a wee cot from Ikea (they are fairly cheap too) in the corner of my living room. My DS just slept there until my bedtime.

My DS is 15months and we have always co-slept. My DS also does not have a cot.
I have dismantled my bed and just have the mattress on the floor. I put him to bed around 7/8 and stay with him until he falls asleep- and then go downstairs. Sometimes I'll need to go up once to re settle him. I normally go to bed around 10/11ish.

I just put her in my bed. She went to sleep and I went down and drank wine.

I co slept until recently and we against all advice I should add left him in the middle of the bed with pillows stacked all around and he never fell out/came to any harm.
However now he can crawl we've had to put him in his cot.
Maybe you could try bed guards? Something I meant to do but never quite got round to

I have the same issue with 7 mo DS. I feed him to sleep and end up having to go to bed at 7 every night which is a bit limiting! He stirs any time I get up to leave. He also fell out of bed last night (despite co-sleeper cot acting as bed guard) which makes me very reluctant to leave him sleeping alone on our bed even if I could.

They do leave a gap, so I put a folded pillow longways and firmly push it down the gap.

Baby goes up at 6.30ish & then I go back up at 8.00 ish.

What about buying a toddler bed with a guard? Into that at seven and then if when he wakes for a feed bring him in with you?

Hadn't even thought about bed guards,thanks everyone. Just taken 2 off dds bed as she doesn't need them anymore so will just pop them on mine!

We cosleep with 9mo ds and I bf him to sleep (oh, the horror I hear some people cry!!!). We put him in a simple cot at the foot of the bed before we go to bed then from the first time he wakes, around 2 am, he comes into the bed with us and I feed him and that's where he stays. The longer he sleeps, the longer he will stay in his cot.

I've put up bed guards on each side of bed. They seem to work fine. About £30 for two. Is that an option?

They are the single bed ones but they work fine on king bed

We have a cot bed attached to our bed, we took the sideoff the cot bed so it's effectively a huge sidecar cot.

18 month old ds goes to sleep in the sidecar cot at about 6 or 7ish and then we just leave him, we have done this since he was 6 months old.

We have a video monitor and he's in a sleepingbag and he's never fallen out of bed.

I just kept my babies with me asleep downstairs in bounce chairs until I was ready to go up to bed, but I was quite poorly and didn't want to go back and forth.
(I also fed, bathed and left them in them while I had a bath, wonderful things)

Bed rails from Argos on both sides and go back downstairs after he's fallen asleep.
