My dd is driving me round the bend

...she's going to be 3 in a few weeks. She is super-clingy. If she's doing painting or sticking or anything else I have to sit at the table next to her. If I dare to go off - to clean my teeth or put a wash on, she starts screaming, "Mummy, Mummy! Mummy.." ad infinitum until I come back.
Every morning she runs into my son's room and wakes him up at 6ish!
Yesterday morning, when the au pair was in charge dd bit my son's face so hard that the individual teeth marks were still visible on his face when he got after his sleep at 2pm.
I can see that she's really spoilt and is running rings around the rest of the family.
I get so frustrated that I end up being really sarcastic with her and ignoring her because she's winding me up so much.
It just seems impossible to get out of the cycle of bad behaviour - lots of attention, more bad behaviour etc. Although she's nearly 3 she can barely play on her own - or at least refuses to unless somebody is sitting with her.

I'm at my wit's end! Has anybody worked their way out of this kind of situation and moved on??
