Hay Fever Help!

Hi my DS 3.2 has suddenly developed hay fever. Neither mine or Dh's family have any history of it so dont know much about it. It is mainly affecting his eyes hence lots of rubbing which results in him looking lime hes done 10 rounds in the ring!! Took him to docs last week who has confirmed likely hay fever and now giving loratadine once a day. It seemed to be working ok until yesterdays very high pollen count and still had some symptoms.
Just wondering if anyone had any tips for me? Hate seeing him suffer when he loves playing out and going to the park. Thanks!

Ds has it too. He's 5 and this is 3rd summer of it. :(

He has loratidine liquid, beclometasone nasal spray and eye drops.
The eye drops aren't really cutting it though - he has tried sodium chromoglycate - rubbish, optanol - ok and yesterday got prescribed lodoxamide. Will see how that goes.

He also wears wrap around sunglasses constantly wen outdoors and has showers/ bath before bed. If he sleeps (day or night) without flushing his eye clear he wakes up with red, puffy, swollen, closed up eyes. :(

I would love to know if anyone finds a miracle eye cure!
