how easily can you 2yo sit up just using their stomach muscles?

dd1 seems quite weak in this area. for example when she is washing her hair she flails her legs around but can't sit up unaided. she only sits up by turning onto her front.

can your child do this better?

Mine is 2.5 and can't sit up from lying down using just using her tummy muscles. I'm not worried!

My toddler struggles to sit up from lying down and always turns on her side. Why do you think it's a problem?

A typical child cannot do this until at least 5 years old or older. Please do not worry. The way you describe is the typical way they get from lying to sitting.

my 23mo DS does this too, always rolls onto side/tummy
