Sick child advice needed

Hi All

I rarely post but have exhausted all other avenues for help and wondered whether anyone has been through anything similar and can offer a much needed light at the end of this tunnel for me.
My dd3 (23 months) has not been well for 3 weeks now. It started with her being very lethargic, irritable and not eating this went on for a few days and we brought her to doc who checked for everything and said it was viral. 4 days after this doc visit there was no improvement so brought her again still viral and told I would have to let it run its course. She then started vomiting a bit and got diarrhoea after a couple of days so brought her back to doc again who was concerned she was still ill so referred to A & E. (this was now day 12 of being sick). Hospital put her on drip for fluids and ran loads of tests but everything came back fine. They said she was likely to have had a virus and then caught gastroenteritis on top of that. They kept her in for 3 days but once hydrated sent home again on the Monday. Still very little improvement at this stage she is so weak and skin and bone from not eating much for so long. By the Friday she was dehydrated again despite spending 2 days trying to syringe diorolite into her so back to A & E for more fluids and more tests. They didnt keep us in this time. So 3 weeks on and 3 gp and 2 hospital visits later she is no better. She is so weak she hasnt the energy to walk and is still barely eating.
I was just wondering whether anyone can shed any light on this we are very stressed and worried about her at this point and cannot see any signs of improvement and dont know where to go for help?

I would take her to the nearest children's hospital if that's possible so she can be seen by paediatricians who specialise rather than just A&E doctors or general paediatricians.

Agree with gold and if that's not an option go to your GP today! say its an emergency and insist on an emergency referral. If you need support is there someone you could take with you?

My mum was minding her yesterday cos I had to work and she didn't have a great day with her. When I came home she ate a small bit of tea with her sisters and went to bed fine. She was up at 5am though and has been quite irritable since getting up and not interested in food.
Goldmandra it was a children's hospital we took her to so she would have been seen by paediatricians the first time they kept her in for 3 days and rand loads of tests but all that came back was gastroenteritis and they seemed to think she would pick up but after being at home after for 4 days we took her back cos she had become dehydrated this time they just gave her more fluids and sent us home. they ran tests to see was she celiac but those results aren't back for a week and tbh not sure she would suddenly become ill like this if she was celiac? I think you are right though we will have to take her back but it is so frustrating when there doesn't seem to be anything they can do for her to help her.

Glad she was a little better yesterday. How has today been?

I don't know if Coeliac disease can present like this but I thought it was a more gradual thing. At least you'll find that one out in a few days.

Are you managing to keep her hydrated?

I would keep taking her back if there's no improvement, especially if she's still too lethargic to walk. You can ask for open access to the ward so you don't have to keep going through A&E.
