At 21 months I doubt she has any concept of privacy. Maybe she just doesn't like him shouting at the top of his voice!

I potty trained my DD at 20 months and have to say she liked privacy when using the potty, so if we went to someone's house, even very close family, she wouldn't go unless she was separate from everyone. Now that she uses the big toilet with one of those special seats, she's much happier as she can be left in peace when doing a no.2. She gets very annoyed if my one year old crawls in and bothers her! I'm not sure if it was a privacy thing or feeling pressured though by having others around.

(If you have a small downstairs loo you could pop the potty in there and pull the door to a bit - that's what I did, usually gave her a book or bag full of special potty time toys). She's almost two and now yells 'Done iiiiiiiit' when she's been!
