Afternoon nap

My 7 month old DD has taken to having a rather long nap in the afternoon.

She goes down around 3:30/4pm and can sometimes sleep up to 2 hours!

This naturally has an effect on her proper evening sleep (which is about 7:30/8pm.

It feels wrong though to wake her.

What should I do?

I'm not an expert but I think I'd leave her... It could be a growth spurt perhaps?

My DS has just started to do this!! He gets grumpy tired at 3ish then will sleep until 5. It doesn't seem to affect his night sleep though. Could be growth spurt or the start of him dropping down to one long nap a day??

My DS did this too at around 7mo. Sometimes he'd sleep from 3 till almost 5 and I'd be fretting as to whether to wake him!

He's 8mo now and the afternoon nap is getting a bit earlier - around 2.30 and the morning nap is getting a bit shorter.

It didn't affect his bedtime, he was still ready to sleep at 7/7.30. He's crawling now and v active so he does get quite tired during the day.

Leave her and ditch the late-afternoon nap.
