My dd is 9 wks old and v happy, relaxed and peaceful baby. She was big at birth 11lbs and I've been combined feeding her since birth- about 8oz of aptamil (2 x 4oz) per day and the rest breastfed. She sleeps great - 10 hrs straight at night and cat naps during the day. So far, so dream baby- only thing is she only poos every 3rd day or so. My ds at this age was ebf but had dirty nappies at least twice a day. Should I be concerned?

So for example she did a big dirty nappy last Wednesday - her next dirty nappy was Sunday. When they do come they are enormous- like a pint of mustard poo.

Anyone heard of this before?? Any advice appreciated...

A quick visit to Dr Google will tell you this is perfectly normal.

Yep, perfectly normal - DD's record was 8 days I think...

Really?! thanks a million! It's actually v handy. Once you've had a poo day you know there'll be no poopy accidents when you're out and about for the next few days :)

Hadn't heard of it happening before... Thanks ladies

Very normal.

I used to get more and more anxious as the days went along, the longer he waited the bigger the poo! I actually used to warn people when we went over to visit "we'd love to pop over but just to warn you ds hasn't pood for 6 days"

Thanks ikea- yes know the feeling. I try to catch it once it starts and let her do it with the nappy opened up as it can be 5 mins of pooing and no nappy can hold it. I have to hold the nappy up to protect myself as it can be projectile!!!
