5 yo strops from dawn to dusk, whinges, won't help with anything, endlessly teases younger brother and winds him up. She just slapped me hard because I wouldn't get her a drink until she asked me nicely, then she had a massive strop because i asked her to say sorry. Everything is a battle.

Had a look at ahaparenting.com and according to her 5 yos are affectionate, reasonable and cooperative. It was reading that that finally nade me burst into tears though has been a long time coming today.

Nearly 3 yo is bonkers and aggressive. Today we had new gym class, he spent the whole thing running around the outside of the group or being physically restrained by me, howling. Then friend with her two DC came for lunch and he kept hitting/pinching/etc when they touched his toys.

I love them but i just want to run away.

I don't really have any advice but just to say that my two are the same ages as yours and your day sounds very similar to days that I've had. I just try to tell myself that it will pass and hope that it will!

What discipline do you do? If my 3 yo acted like that, I'd take them home after warnings or say beforehand if they behave well then they can choose pasta for lunch. For the 5 yo, what consequences did she get for hitting? I'd have taken a favourite toy away for a few days and put her in her room to calm down.
