Baby hiccups during pregnancy & reflux??

Just an informal poll that I thought of following a conversation with my sister.

Those of you with reflux babies, did your baby hiccup a lot in the womb??

My Ds used to hiccup 2 or 3 times a day (which was a lovely feeling) and has reflux and my sister's DS did both (her DD's didn't hiccup and didn't have reflux) - just wondered if there was a link???

No pattern here. Don't remember dd hiccoughing much but she had reflux and actually was throwing up fluid before she'd even had more than colostrum at a day or so.

Both of my dd's frequently hiccuped but neither have reflux

Interesting.

I'd never thought about it until I read your post but DS1 had hiccups loads in the womb and had reflux as a baby. DS2 didn't have hiccups in the womb and didn't suffer from reflux.

My ds had hiccups all the time in the womb...in fact mostly that's all I felt rather than kicking. He has reflux, although he was also 6wks prem which can also have a bearing on reflux I think.

All three of mine were constantly hiccupping but none have had reflux.

Both DS and DD hiccupped a lot, but neither had reflux.

My DD hiccuped a lot in the womb, and after she was born, but didn't have reflux.

DS1 hiccuped loads and had reflux

DD hiccuped loads and didnt have reflux

DS2 didnt hiccup and didnt have reflux.

DS had hiccuped constantly while I was carrying him, and had reflux.

My DD hiccuped loads during pregnancy, and yep, had severe reflux and was on pretty strong medication up until around 7 months old

DD hiccupped several times a day both before and after birth. No reflux.

DS hiccuped a bit, but not so much as DD. Slight reflux (did not know it was called that, at that time he was just a pukey baby)

i had 3 very hiccupy babies, but none of them had reflux

ds1 and ds2 were both "cured" of their hiccups once out of the womb, by my lovely osteopath

DS was the king of hiccuping in utero but no reflux. DD also quite hiccupy, but no reflux either

DS - loads of hiccups in utero and bad reflux which needed medicating

DD - hiccups too but very mild reflux and a much happier baby

DD used to hiccup all the time in the womb but no reflux. Was not at all pukey either.

DS hiccuped a heck of a lot in utero and extremely bad reflux diagnosed aged 3 weeks, medicated with gaviscon (we have just weaned him off this, aged 12.5 months) and he still is under paedeatricians care for this.

DS hiccupped constantly while I was pregnant, and had terrible reflux. I've always wondered if this was linked too, good poll...

My dd hiccuped loads in the womb, and had bad reflux. I read in a book on reflux that there's a link.

DD had hiccups about 5 times a day....was the only way I felt her. But no reflux. Sorry

Mine had hiccups all the time in the womb like yours and now has severe reflux, and still hiccups a lot.

Ds1 hiccuped a lot in and out of the womb. No reflux.

Ds2 never hiccuped. Had silent reflux.
