Our 4 yr old is a very social & loving girl. She has recently begun however to be 'over' friendly to adults we barely know, such as staff at children's centres or the property manager from our recent holiday. It seems that if they show any interest in her or smile at her she describes them as her 'best friend' ans keeps showering them in hugs & kisses. This week she rather embarrassingly did it to her male swimming teacher. Poor bloke didn't know what to do. We don't want to stifle her loving ness but feel she needs guidance on appropriateness & boundaries. Am looking for advice on how to approach this please! She gets plenty of affection from us but we wondered if she may be feeling insecure as starting school soon??
