I can't take the noise much longer!!

My 2 year old never stops making noise from morning till night. He shouts, sings, talks incessantly, you name it, he's making a noise about it! He's not got hearing problems and is just as confident physically. It's driving me bonkers and giving me a headache. Also, my other son is 11 weeks and never gets a look in, poor thing... Please tell me there are others the same and I'm not in for a lifetime of ADHD diagnoses... (only joking)

Sophiev73-I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old and have to say sounds prety normal in my experience.
My two are constantly on the go.

What are your ds's interests?
I find with my two a selection of art and craft things keep their little hands busy for a while or a favourite dvd.

Was your ds like this before the baby arrived?
Has he got more attention seeking since then?

I remember when my dd came along and ds craved more attention, I used to try and spend one on one time with him whilst the baby slept so he did'nt feel left out.

Thanks, I think you're right that the noise has come with the new baby! He does like play-do etc etc so have been trying that and other 'calmer' activites... Will aim to spend some more quiet time with him I think.

Sophiev73-I know it is difficult to balance out time between them,especially when you have a small baby who relys on you all the time.
At least as they get older they can play together,well that's the theory.My two play quite well together when they are not arguing

My ds used to like getting involved with helping look after the new baby,ie bathtime,playing,dressing etc.

AS for the headaches I think they come with the terriotry
