My 2yo has just bitten me on the face

I'm so cross and upset with her. And it bloody hurt. She's been biting and hitting a lot recently, always says sorry afterwards but nothing seems to stop her from doing it. It's mostly when she is tired or can't get her own way. She always has a complete melt down after nursery and I think her teeth are playing up (have given nurofen and bonjela), but I'm ready to give her away. DH is currently trying to get her to bed, whilst she cries and screams for me to go back upstairs to her.

How can I stop the biting? She doesn't do it to anyone else apart from me and DH.

Ouch poor you. There is a book you can get called 'Teeth are not for biting' which is quite good. If you google toddlers 'biting xero to three' there is quite a good article to read - sorry no idea how to do links.

Good luck and remember - this too will pass

Thanks Zephyroux, I'll take a look!

It's not called the terrible two's for nothing. They can turn into horrid little creatures at this age; kicking, biting, throwing things, spitting, the lot. I have found that a short time out does help and after 2 minutes they have to come and speak about what they have done wrong and to apologise. Stay strong, keep firm boundaries?.... Don't give in to her demands no matter how much she plays up. This phase WILL pass but it requires the patience of a saint to get through it.
