How to play with a six month old

I have a six month old Baby girl and I am worried that I am not doing the right things when I play with her to encourage her development. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should be doing at this age to interest her? I would hate to be doing the wrong things. I sing to her, read to her, take her for long walks in the pushchair, watch her as she rolls around. Am I not doing something crucial?

Hello again! You're doing fine. Talk to her about what you do, involve her when she's a bit older (even tiny tots can help sort the veg/washing - maybe not efficiently but she'll enjoy it) and avoid anything made of plastic that says beep!

I did/do all these things with my 10 month old ds but I do leave him to play by himself for a time too because I don't want to become the 24/7 entertainer further down the line.

And don't stress about the "milestones". They all develop at their own rate.

Sounds fine to me! Little babies don't need to be played with as such - your company is probably her best play thing tbh.

A few soft toys (different textures and colours often fascinate babies) , rattle-type toys, chewable rings etc I think are the only things my 2 played with at this age.

Songs with actions are good when they're this age too (Clap hands, incy-wincy etc) cos they'll start to copy you soon and that's GREAT!
