My son has had an expulsion of tics following ear infections and chicken px at start if year. They are motor and vocal and involve different parts of his body. Have changed diet and supplementing with magnesium. No real help. Have been given a diagnosis of suspected tourettes. Gp told me it would go away. I don't think tourettes really goes away. Extremely worried about his future. Anyone heard of PANDAS? Any advice would be great. Also does Tinsley house really help with tics?

Sorry no one seems to have any answers for you. Perhaps you should try posting this in special needs.

Hi. How old is your son and did he have any tics before these infections? My sons have tics but they have developed gradually so I can see why you would wonder about PANDAS. I don't know too much about it and I'm sure the GP's don't either. Would it be worth them trying antibiotics.

Suspected Tourettes isn't a diagnosis. It's a possibility. Has he referred your DS to a paediatrician or CAMHS?

If it helps at all, in a lot of years of caring for children, I have come across quite a few who have had tics at this age and have grown out of them completely.
