Hi looking for some advise please. My 14 month old has always been a handful with a short fuse and little patience. He was improving last month but is still abit like Jekyll and Hyde- now he suddenly gets cross for no apparent reason...i just wonder is this normal or could there be an underlying problem with his personality further down the line...probably just being paranoid but i do worry as he is so less tolerant then all other children i know the same age? He has in the last week started to get very cross behaving like the terrible twos....shouting and throwing things at the flip of a hat--is that normal at this age as i thought he was too young for this behaviour? I feel so embaressed when out and about of other people seeing this and feel i cant control him. I try to ignore or distract this behavour but am unsure what else to do? Thanks.

Don't sweat the small stuff, keep up the distractions and be consistent. DS is exploring and his anger will most likely be frustration so you either keep up lots of 1:1 attention or more realistically, distract him in between lots of praise when he isn't kicking off. Sometimes you can catch them off-guard and jolly a toddler out of a mood by big hugs or blowing raspberries on his neck or back or tummy.
