Feeding baby

My 3 month year old has suddenly decided that three quarters of the way through the bottle he doesn't want any more (spilting out the milk and crying) but he then waggles his head in a rooting manner and when I put the teat back in he grabs it like he is half starved - then rests this for about 5 minutes before then settling down and happily drinking the last bit. He does have silent reflux which s being managed with omeprazole. Any ideas when this might be about? He is well winded and if there was a medical problem why does he settle down to finish off? This has also coincided with him complaining when put over shoulder to be burped. These little things are a mystery. Many thanks!

Has he been checked for tongue tie Move?

Ummm, he's had his 6 week and 8 week checks and ghetto looked in his mouth but that wasn't so digitally mentioned uk me. He had been feeding just find before. Any help gratefully received!

There's a growth spurt at 3 months so it sounds like the fussiness of that is kicking in - rooting and going on and off the boob are certainly what mine have done during growth spurts and I'm sure the actions must be the same for FF as I'm guessing it's an instinctive action. If he's going on and off the teat, I'm guessing he's taking on more air with the fussing which might account for the unhappiness over the shoulder as perhaps he has more trapped wind than normal.

I'm sure it'll settle down, but have a chat with your HV if you're worried.

Thanks for the advice, that's helpful. He used to be such a good eater and it's gone spectacularly pear shaped with him screaming the house down in the middle like he's in agony!
