Constant shouting. Help!

My dd is 5 months old and just shouts constantly. She is unbelievably loud and I'm afraid to say it's really getting me down. I am trying everything to entertain her, get her to sleep regularly etc. she may be teething I suppose but God it's a pain in the arse. Anyone got any advice or words of wisdom?

Do you think she is in pain or is she just shouting? My Ds used to do this (still does at 11 months) and he was just experimenting with how loud he could shout

Thank you for those! She doesn't seem particularly distressed and she's certainly not crying. I used to think it was wind but now it seems to be a lot more of the time. It may well be that she wants attention which I do try to give her!

My 5 week old is shouty. It's bleak.

OP my dd, 6 months old today, is a screamer! I have posted on here several times about it and like you, it does really get me down! I get sick of people telling me "it's just her finding her voice". It's NOT that at all, I'm sure of it. If it were she'd be happy while screaming and I'd say 9 times out of 10 she does it with a look of frustration, annoyance about her.

She has been doing this for a good few months and I even went to a paedeatrician a few weeks ago, who unfortunately wasn't able to say what he thought it was.

So the mystery continues...

Taler, that sounds very hard. With dd it's more a yell than a scream and it's just so bloody loud. I think it's probably boredom or frustration with her but I am exhausted trying to sort it out, running around trying different things. To be honest I would like to be able to just ignore her for 10 minutes but the constant racket ensures I can't do that. It is very very miserable (although I feel awful saying that).
