I'm sure I'm not the only one, anyone got any tips?!
DS was a great sleeper until recently. We took the side off his cot about 2 months ago and it wasn't an issue but in the last couple of weeks he has started acting up at bed time.
He keeps getting out of bed when we put him down and we've been doing the 'return to bed' method - not engaging with him, just putting him back in bed each time. To start with this worked, took an hour or so for him to get the message but the next few nights he went to bed fine. The last few nights however we have had to do this to get him to bed (for 2 hours!) with him literally getting up as soon as you step away from the cot and then he's got up in the night and we've had to do another 2 hours to get him back to sleep. Needless to say, DH and I are tired (I am also 17 weeks with DC2) and need a solution. Last night I was so tired I gave up and DS crept into our room and fell asleep on the floor!
Could it be separation anxiety and he just doesn't want to be on his own?
