time out for 3 year old

Hi my 3 year old has bad tempers and when i put him on time out he never stays tgere he screams shout lashes out and keeps getting up iv tried puttin him back each time but it dont work so i try putting him in room but he keeps open the door screaming if i try to tell him off he laughs and hits

Are you after some advice on how to deal with his behaviour? Have you noticed anything that triggers of his tempers? Is he overtired? Does he still have a nap?

There are some good time out tips here and ask your HV what she suggests.

he is 3 do he past the nap stage he just dont like getting own way if i say time out he shouts and dont sit quite x

At 3 he could be tired without a nap. Have you noticed a time he is usually worse?

i did they were fab thank you i think he just testing boundries and knows it works sometimes lol i need to be more consistent but it the getting him to sit down without a struggle thats hard x

Could you help him to understand his temper and control it? At 3 he may simply not yet have learned the skills to know how to calm himself down.
I can't advise on the time out, I don't use punishment.
